Well, it’s been close to one year since I have written. It’s been a whirl wind of a year to say the least. Last time I wrote, our oldest adopted daughter, had ask Jesus to be her personal Savior on the same day of the celebration service of Rick’s grandfather who had passed away. Several weeks after that our youngest did the same! God is good!
Our adoption was final at the end of December of 2011!! We had our adoption celebration party in April with all of the trimmings and a bounce house. The girls were so thrilled they could hardly wait for the party day. The girls came up with the idea instead of people bringing them gifts; they would have them bring teddy bears for children who were going into foster care. Knowing what it feels like to come into foster care, they knew a comfort measure had to take place while being whist away from the only situation you’ve ever known. The girls made a presentation to the Social Worker that it head of the adoption agency which helped us in expanding our family. They collected lots of bears that needed a forever home too.
During this year the girls have grown beyond belief! They have excelled in school, church, Bible, friendship, and extra activities they have been involved with. We are so proud to have them as a part of our family. It’s like they have always been ours since day one and everybody fits together so well.
We have had our up’s and down’s with issue’s which crept up from their past, but it was nothing that God couldn’t handle. He gave us the wisdom that was needed at the time to properly deal with each situation as they accrued. God is so faithful!
All and all the girls are doing wonderful!!!
Christopher has completed High School and will graduate this coming Saturday! He was able to get into the early college program and spend half a day in college and the other half in high school. He has maintained a B average. He plans to attend college and head into the military at a later time. I’m just glad is sticking around at home for a bit longer.
Preston moved to Tennessee to attend college there. He has brought in straight A’s for his first year of college. He also plans to go into the military.
Jennifer has completed beauty school and has landed a pretty good job for herself! She’s working in an upscale, high end salon. She’s seems to be enjoying her job.
Michael is living in Boone and has entertained the idea of going back to school. He’s been living on his own for several years now and pops home whenever he’s not working.
Time is ticking quickly and it's hard to beleive it's been almost a year!
God is good!!
